Soap Indulgence // Fresh Soap, True Blue Spa Soap

I used to abhor soap, abhor the mere idea of bulk bar soap and its synthetic ingredients and drying effects. As someone with dry, sensitive skin, I feared what it would do to my skin; I've used body wash for as long as I can remember. But, while I haven't been converted fully, I understand the appeal of bar soap now; there's something organic, sensual and squeaky clean about soap.

Rave Review // Fresh Soap.
From the Fresh website: Sugar Lychee Soap has a hard-milled vegetable glycerin and shea butter base that provides long-lasting moisture. Sugar Lychee Soap sparkles with juicy lychee, bright grapefruit, and transparent lotus flower.

At $12-14 a bar, Fresh brand soaps are luxury soaps. As someone new to the world of soap, this is the creme de la creme for me personally so far. I previously tried a Soy soap from Fresh, and was hooked. I can't find the Soy version anymore, but I just picked up Sugar Lychee Soap at Sephora. It lathers incredibly well and it's extremely moisturizing, with a rich floral/fruity scent that stays on the skin even after the shower. It's non-irritating to the skin and gets me clean without drying me out. Fresh soaps have some quality ingredients, intoxicating scents and a beautiful feel on the skin; highly recommended if you can afford to splurge.

Rave Review // Bath & Body Works, True Blue Spa, Creamy Cleansing Bar.
After getting a taste for high-end soap, I wanted to try a more affordable version with some of the same properties. For $6.50, this Creamy Cleansing Bar is very good. It's a little less moisturizing compared to Fresh soaps, but possesses a pleasing, subtle "just washed with soap" scent that also remains on the skin following a shower. I prefer the Fresh brand just because I'm picky about my moisture, but there's nothing wrong with this soap if you're comparing it to drugstore fare, or your skin isn't quite so dry; and, since it's half the price, I have no problem purchasing this when I can't afford Fresh brand. If you're not a soap lover, but your boyfriend/husband is, this would make a great gift for him.
